Abel Tasman Photo Gallery

The Abel Tasman Coastal Track is the jewel of the 'Great Walks' of New Zealand. This magnificent coastline, with many sandy bays and secluded beaches enchants all who visit.

It extends from Marahau, about one hour drive north of Nelson, to Golden Bay, about 51 km later. The combination of dreamlike beaches, native forest and tidal estuaries and the possibility of seeing a variety of animals like penguins, dolphins, seals and New Zealand birds make this track the highlight of any trip to New Zealand.

The temperature is never extreme, with around 25 C in summer and 15 C in winter. The region enjoys some of the best weather in New Zealand with about 2500 hours of sunshine each year.

There are lots of opportunities for swimming, relaxing in the sun, or visiting waterfalls and historic sites; a great all round experience.
