The Aorere was the site of the first gold rush in N.Z. Although most of Golden Bay was worked for gold, one field in particular was very profitable.

We take you round this area and show you some of the relics from those exciting days and describe the incredible efforts the miners went to to get the gold. The trip is a leisurely 4 hour walk suitable for most people.
