This is an easy 4 hour walk through the bush into the mountains to visit the historic hut where Henry and Annie Chaffey lived in isolation for nearly 40 years.

We tell you the wonderful story of these runaway lovers, as well as take you through some of the wildest gorge and mountain scenery in N.Z.

We walk past an old abandoned asbestos mine (totally safe) and relate the story of the mine, and then drive over the Cobb Ridge, at over 1000m one of the highest public roads in N.Z., to see the Cobb Reservoir and the mountains of the Kahurangi.
