One Day Walk in the Cobb Valley

 

Either a gentle 1 - 3 hour walk along the flats of the Cobb Valley, through beech forest and mountain plants, or a 2 hour climb up the zig zag track to the magnificent views of from the Cobb Ridge.

This is one of the few places where New Zealand's oldest fossils can easily be seen. There are many remnants of a glaciated past, with U shaped valleys, glacial moraines, roche moutonnees, and glacial grooves.

The Cobb Ridge is also on of the ways into the Tablelands.

The scenery is spectacular and the drive up the Cobb Gorge is also special!
