ESOL Walks... "Talking the Walk"

Make the most of your time in New Zealand!  See more of this beautiful country while continuing to improve your English…

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Walks are a new service offered by Kahurangi Guided Walks.

By choosing an ESOL Walk, you will be able to practise and enhance your English in an informal, natural environment while exploring some of New Zealand’s finest scenery.

You will be accompanied throughout the trip by an experienced guide and trained ESOL teacher (Trinity TESOL certificate).  The trip is interactive so there will be plenty of chances to improve your conversational English.  Some study material will be provided and there will be ample time in the evenings to ask questions, make notes and play language games.

Choose from either: a 2 day or 3 day Abel Tasman experience, a 5 day Abel Tasman coastal trek, or for the more adventurous, a 5 day Heaphy Track tramp in the Kahurangi National Park.   It is very important that you carefully read all the information about the trip.  You need to know what is involved and what you need to bring so you can be prepared.

The package includes:

  • Transport (from Nelson to track and back),

  • Food,

  • Accommodation,

  • An experienced guide

  • Informal English language tuition for the duration of the trip.

Alternatively, you may like to join an existing ESOL walk by clicking on ‘Join a Trip’.  This is a fun way to meet other English language students.   (ESOL Walks need a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 to run.)
