This is the 3 day version of the walk. Along the flat of the Cobb Valley to Fenella Hut, with visits to Xenicus, Mt Gibbs, Mt Aorere, and Waingaro Peak for views and graptolite fossils.

This is one of the few places where New Zealand's oldest fossils can easily be seen. There are many remnants of a glaciated past, with U shaped valleys, glacial moraines roche moutonnees, and glacial grooves.

The scenery is spectacular and the drive up the Cobb Gorge is also special!
