The Tablelands is a unique plateau landscape deep in the mountains of the Kahurangi. The area is a popular destination for trampers.

To enjoy this area you will need at least 3 days, there is so much to see and do. The marble peak of Mt Arthur ( 1795m) and Mt Peel are easily accessed from either Balloon Hut or Salisbury Lodge.

On this 3 day walk, we travel through down the forested Flora Valley. Then up to the Tablelands and Salisbury Lodge for the night. The following day we climb Mt Peel and then stay at Balloon Hut the second night. We return to the car park on the third day.

There are many variations available to this schedule.
